Sana is a current PhD candidate at The University of Melbourne, researching the use of evidence in conservation decisions and the interaction of value-based and technical judgements in decision making. Sana’s research takes an integrated perspective on emerging conservation issues.
Sana’s research interests cover a broad spectrum of topics relevant to the environmental science-policy intersection. In particular, her work investigates the cognitive dimensions of decision making under uncertainty. Sana is curious about how evidence and risk-based information is used in decision making aimed at achieving conservation outcomes. Sana’s previous work focused on biodiversity conservation, ecosystem management and population modelling.
