Gurutzeta Guillera-Arroita is a Lecturer in Ecological Modelling at the University of Melbourne, where she works under the umbrella of the Quantitative and Applied Ecology Group. Gurutzeta has a background in statistical ecology (prior to that she was a telecom engineer!). Her research spans a range of topics including wildlife monitoring, the modelling of species distributions and optimal survey design, with an emphasis on issues derived from imperfect detection. An overarching goal in her research is to improve how modelling is applied to inform environmental decisions.
